I started officially cosplaying in 2015. I created a youtube channel (Cosplay Life) a few years later. I figured if I was looking up how to do something and couldn't find a video showing me how to do it, I should probably make the video.
Long Island native. Spent 25 years in the United States Army. Medically retired after 3 years of hospitalizations. Turned to music and other forms of art as a form of physical therapy. After being introduced to Cosplay became thrilled at the thought of creating things from favorite movies, tv shows and video games. Now attends con all over the U.S. as an invited guest.
I love weathering props—using a brush, I add black or brown paint to creases and edges and smudge it with a paper towel. It adds so much depth and shading to really make props pop. I use this technique on everything from weapons to princess crowns!
Sara has been cosplaying since 2002, when she was 13 years old. Today she works as a full-time mom with a full-time job and still manages to fit in some time to work on cosplay projects for fun! Most of her work today are hybrid sewn and armor crafted costume pieces from various video games. On the side, Sara enjoys playing the piano on flute arranging music.
"I love costumes, and I really like making props. A life long hobby has grown into a YouTube channel where I show people how I like to make props." Odin Abbott has been making costumes and props for over 35 years. Odin started in the pre-internet era, and he learned from books by Tom Savini and Dick Smith, as well as magazines like Cinefex and CineMagic, and honed some skills by building model kits and painting miniatures for tabletop games.
I've been cosplaying for about 8 years and am a PNW native, and creating art since I could walk and and talk. Cosplay is my favorite form of art because it forces me learn new skills and techniques, and bring fantasy to life. The cosplay community is filled with talented creators who love teaching and giving back and I couldn't ask for a better family.
Pigtails and Powertools is a professional cosplayer and prop maker from Utah. Her work is mainly heavy armor builds with fine detail. She also works for the Evermore Creative Studio making creatures and props for the Evermore Park, and for local films.
I am a junior high teacher by day, prop maker/YouTuber by night. I make a wide range of things using a wide range of products and techniques. I love being creative and sharing my process with others to get them interested in making.
Sionnach Studios is the combined effort between award winning set, costume, and prop designer/fabricators Billythebrick Cosplay and The Feathered Hart Costumes.
